It's hard to buy a Kids' Quads that is JUST THE RIGHT SIZE. If you've ever been Quads shopping with the kids, you'll know, I don't even have to mention it here. But I will. Over and over again, you'll hear kids going "I don't want a quad that is too small. It'll make me feel like a kid. And I don't want a quad that is too big either; I won't be able to control it".
So, parents shopping for Kids Quads would have to try to find something that is right smack in the middle! And let me tell you this, it's tough.

Is size everything to a Kids Quads?

Kids seem to think that size IS everything, unfortunately. This is because whenever they ride it, what is most important to them is that they look, ride and act cool on it. For parents, choosing the right Kids Quads goes much further than that. We want it to be safe, we want it to be good-looking, we want the Kids Quads to last (a lifetime, if possible), and we want it to be fast as well. Now, how do we find the right Kids Quads that measure up to ALL those requirements?

A strike right in the middle of it

The most important thing about buying a Kids Quads is to get one that will please BOTH the parents and the child. And also don't forget (NEVER forget) that your child will grow and as he/she grows, the Kids Quads will need to grow along with your child! The right move for parents would be to invest in a Kids Quads that is medium sized. Not too small. And yet...not too big. For example, a 90cc mini Kids Quad with the power of a 50cc ATV...now, that's how you strike it right smack in the middle.

With a Kids Quads like that, you can expect it to last at least 5 years of growth spurt! Not only will your Kid feel satisfied with the new machine, it will also last quite a long time, giving you your money's worth. The most important thing, as we always tell parents, when buying Kids Quads is to consider the safety features included in the ATV. No matter how handsome the machine looks, it will mean nothing if it's not as safe as an ATV can possibly get. Keep an eye out for a speed limiter screw that can help kids control their quads' speed.

Kids Quads for everything

Another important point to consider when buying Kids Quads is to make sure that it's suitable for almost all terrains. Some of the cheaper Kids Quads are simply made for a certain particular terrain - and that's not a good idea because...like we said, your child will grow and so will his/her interest. If you were to invest in a good Kids Quads, what you can do is to buy one that fits everything - from sand dunes to dirt, from water to mud...basically everything. And as your child grows and his/her interest grows, no matter what terrain it is, he/she will be able take the Kids Quads that you bought and ride it like a Pro.

If you want your kids quad to last, it is important to look after it well. This involves cleaning and regular maintenance. Spending a little bit of time on this will ensure that your ATV lasts for a long time.

Because they are often used off-road, kids quads need to be cleaned regularly as dirt and mud can build up easily and cause damage to your ATV. To avoid this dirt and mud from causing problems such as corrosion, rust and affecting the paint, you should completely clean your ATV on a regular basis. This simple act of cleaning ATV's is often overlooked by owners, yet it is perhaps the easiest way to prevent damage.

To keep your mini ATV in a safe operating condition, routine maintenance should be performed regularly. Just like cars or motorbikes, kids quads' engines and parts need attention. The oil should be changed regularly to avoid engine wear. Check the brakes regularly to make sure nothing is stuck in there. Check that all wheel nuts are tightened to the correct tension settings. Degrease the chain regularly and use a good quality silicone wax or oil to keep the chain in good working condition. The spark plugs should also be checked every three months and any carbon deposits should be cleaned off the tip of them.

If your kids quad is not used for long periods of time, it is important to prepare it for storage in order to reduce the risk of damage. If you do not prepare it for storage properly, it can cause damage to the engine and fuel system. Firstly, make sure the vehicle is cleaned thoroughly to remove any dirt. The oil and oil filters should both be changed and fuel should be drained from the tank and fuel lines.

Doing a few simple tasks to ensure that your kids quad bike is well looked after can end up saving you a lot of money in the future on repairs. It will also ensure that it is much safer for your child to ride.
